1) City University of New York Law School
CUNY School of Law is the very best public interest law
school in the country. Public interest law is a relatively new
concept dating back only to the late 1960s. At the founding
of CUNY in 1983, it pioneered the model of integrating
lawyering (PRACTICAL SKILLS YOU WILL USE AS A
LAWYER) with traditional doctrinal study (THE STUFF

The Carnegie Foundation has praised CUNY for being one of
the few select law schools in the country to prepare students
for the practice of law through instruction in theory, skills,
and ethics. Plus, CUNY is in Queens. Who would have
guessed Queens?
2) The Massachusetts School of Law
MSLAW is 20 minutes North of Boston in Andover, Yes,
Andover as in home of Philips Andover. MSLAW, like
CUNY, is more oriented towards practical skills, lawyering
and the acquisition of the day to day skills that lawyers
actually use. The Massachusetts School of Law has the
added advantage of low tuition and high quality education.
MSLAW has eschewed the ABA, does not require the LSAT
and is one of the up and coming law schools in the United
States.
