Online law schools have just begun to thrive in the
United States. If prospective students wish to practice
law in California (or at least initially take the California
Bar Exam) or just earn the prestige that a Juris
Doctorate (J.D.) degree brings then online law schools
are worth a closer look.

Online schools offer lower tuitions and flexibility that
brick and mortar institutions can't offer. The major
drawback is that California is the only state that allows
graduates from online schools to sit for the bar.

After passing the California bar online students may be
able to then sit for bar exams in other states. It's best to
check with the admissions department at various online
schools to find out about where their graduates are
sitting for the bar exam. They will have the most current
information available.
Are Online Law Schools Worth the Investment?
Each state has a different rule as to who can sit for a
bar exam and who can't. Many states, rightly or
wrongly, are guided by American Bar Association (ABA)
accreditation standards and will only allow graduates
from ABA schools to sit for their exam.

The reality is that if your going practice law locally or
begin a career in the public or private sector, few
people will know the difference between Concord,
Drake or Franklin Pierce.  Read the full report by
