Two Great Books to Get You Ready for Law Schools, part I.
Published: May 14, 200
We often get emails from students who have been accepted
to law school and are ready to rock in roll. These future
students often ask us, “what books can I read that will get
me ready for law school?”
In this article we will give you the two best books to read
before you go. These are books are so great that when you
read them and then start school you’ll want to thank us. To
thank us send an email to support@lawschoolreference.com.
In part II of this post we’ll go over the specific subject
matter reading you can do to get prepared for your first year
classes, but for now let’s talk about the two best books
1000 Days to the Bar by Dennis Tonsing
Thinking like a lawyer, learning and acting like a lawyer are
the paramount themes in this great book. Tonsing will get
you pumped up and ready to begin the study and practice of
law from day 1. This book is very well regarded by students
and professors alike - and for good reason.
Succeeding in Law School by Herbert Ramy
Ramy’s book is more a manual for success in law school.
His practically oriented exercises will help prepare yourself
for school. Give yourself a week or so to work this book
and the results will be very rewarding. Ramy is a true
professional and this book is grounded in the empirical reality
of Ramy’s daily work.
These two books will get you in the mindset to take no
prisoners and begin the study of law. You’ll be sure to start
your career as a student and practicing attorney on the right
foot. In the next article, we’ll cover more advanced reading
that will prepare you for the subject matter you will face in
law school.
